Unit 5: Fractured Fairy-tales

1. Refresh your memory of some famous fairy tales.

Little Red Riding Hood

Jack and the Beanstalk

Princess and the Pea

Grimm's Tales

2. Before writing your own fractured fairy tales, read some first:

Tooter4Kids

Young Writers Project

3. Get some ideas on how to write a fractured fairy tale.

4. Write your own fractured fairy tale.

Print out your fractured fairy tale so that you can draw pictures on it and share the tale with your teacher and friends.

*Always choose the “Back” button at the bottom of the page rather than the usual Internet “Back” button at the top. If not, your work will be erased.

If you finish your story much earlier than your classmates... Use a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the original fairy tale and the fractured one you have written. Print out the Venn diagram after you have finished it.
